When you enter the restaurant, you will be transported back in time due to the vintage decor, dark brick interior, and charming wooden tables.
We recommend trying their famous waffles or pancakes, but everything on the menu is a great selection.
We also love their shiny copper bar and the excellent selection of beers on tap.
El Milagrito Cafe
Another excellent Mexican breakfast spot in the Alamo City is El Milagrito Cafe.
This establishment has been around since 1969 and offers all day breakfast.
Their menu offers different kinds of breakfast tacos, a variety of breakfast plates, chorizo dishes, handmade tortillas, and refried beans.
This is a great hit with locals and can be quite crowded in peak times.
Comfort Cafe

Liberty Bar
Located on Alamo Street, this is a great place for breakfast or brunch.
This trendy restaurant is now located inside a former convent and before that, was located in a building that also once housed a saloon – go figure!
Plus, the original historic building was a tilted structure following a flood in the 1920s – and eventually, the deterioration forced them to make the move.
If that unique bit of history hasn’t caught your eye, then the menu certainly will.
The menu features an intriguing mix of Tex-mex, Greek including falafel and pita, as well as Italian dishes like chicken pesto.
The service is friendly and the food is delicious.
Tip: Get there early on weekends to avoid the line!
Eggspectation
Another excellent breakfast place in San Antonio is Eggspectation.
This unique breakfast place is a Canadian chain that serves American cuisine.
At this restaurant, you can order dishes such as french toast topped with bananas foster sauce, lobster benedict, Montreal Benny, and their famous Great Eggspectations dish.
Also, during the weekend brunch hours, the Eggspectation offers bottomless mimosas, making it a popular girls’ weekend spot.
