We especially love the patio outdoor dining area for a relaxed evening.
The restaurant is famous for their chicken fried steak, onion rings, grilled pork sandwiches, and large drinks.
Another favorite is their grilled pork chop served with fresh buttery rolls and sides!
George’s has another second location offering seafood and American classics on Hewitt Dr.

The restaurant has some of the freshest Tex-Mex food in all of Texas!
As soon as you step into this colorful restaurant, you’ll be served warm chips and homemade salsa with pinto beans dip.

While most associate Magnolia Market with beautiful home décor and furnishings, few people know that there are several amazing food trucks near the Silos too.

Our favorite is Maggie’s Sweet Shoppe.
This quirky food truck serves pies and old fashioned sodas.
While the food trucks keep changing, some of the other favorites include the Little Brisket food truck, Cheddar Box, and 900 Degrees Pizzeria.
Schmaltz’s Sandwich Shoppe
This Eatery in Waco has amazing sandwiches.
They bake their bread fresh daily and are very popular for lunch in downtown Waco.
Try the Original Schmaltz Sandwich or order from the large menu.
Jasper’s BBQ
Jasper’s has fantastic barbecue food.
This local favorite has mouthwatering smoked meats such as pulled pork, brisket, ribs, as well as scrumptious sides.
The restaurant is family owned and looks like a hole in the wall place but on a trip you are sure to be rewarded with fantastic food.
Jake’s Texas Tea House
Jake is one of our favorite restaurants in Waco for southern comfort food as well as the eclectic retro theme.
The inside of the restaurant resembles a vintage gas station and is filled with memorabilia, car parts, license plates and other décor from the old times.
Some of the specialties include chicken fried steak, fried pickles, onion rings, and pot roast.
Jake’s also has excellent desserts and a large selection of local beers.
Baris
For delicious food and large portions, head to Baris.
This Italian restaurant has an unassuming, simple décor and mouth-watering Italian favorites including pasta and pizza.
The restaurant serves complimentary garlic bread a soft and cheesy while the cannoli makes an excellent end to the dinner!
Clay Pot Restaurant
Clay Pot is a Vietnamese restaurant located in Downtown.
It is famous for its namesake clay pot dishes of veggies and proteins baked in a spicy creamy sauce.
They also have a large variety of spring rolls and bubble teas.
Union Hall
Union Hall is a large and trendy food hall located at 720 Franklin Ave Waco TX 76701.
One of our favorites here is the Blasian Asian, a Cambodian food truck.
Their garlic fried rice dishes are spot on and their unique hot sauce recipes perfect if you are looking for something spicy.
Try the lemongrass beef stir fry or the orange chicken and tell them to dial up the heat for a seriously spicy lunch!
Apart from Blasian Asian food truck – other great places to try include Koko Ramen, Wacool tacos and tamales, and Waco Melt.
Ninfa’s Mexican Restaurant
Ninfa’s is an amazing Mexican restaurant with a lively vibe.
We really love the warm brick interior and tall ceilings in the restaurant.
The food is also excellent: from the complimentary chips and salsa for the table to popular dishes such as the crawfish enchilada and fajitas, everything tastes amazing!
Vitek’s BBQ
Another essential for bbq lovers in Waco.
This bbq spot has an interesting history.
While it began as a butcher shop, the owners gradually started cooking barbecue food for their loyal patrons – and the rest as they say, is history!
Their menu ranges from fresh barbecued meats such as chopped brisket and pulled pork to jalapeno sausage and even tacos!
Zoe’s Kitchen
Zoe’s Kitchen located on 1810 S Valley Mills Dr is a great spot to visit.
We especially love their basil pesto hummus – it is creamy and delicious!
They have all the staples such as falafel, kabobs, pita, and more.
